I've noticed on occasion that I sometimes gain a whole new perspective on speaker mods when listening to them the next day with "fresh ears". Sometimes the mods are subtle enough that when you're working with the speakers for hours on end, they start to sound "right" to you even if they don't! Then for example, as you mentioned, you come home from work etc. the next day and fire them up (with presumably "fresh ears"), and you then can tell immediately what you've achieved (or failed to achieve). With "fresh ears" you notice things that you didn't notice the day before when you'd been working with them for hours on end.....
